Official Press release
Vancouver, BC, – The 2nd edition of the popular guide for new immigrants will be available July 1 in time for Canada Day. Based on the arrival experiences of the husband and wife team of Naeem (Nick), and Sabrina Noorani, Arrival Survival Canada provides immigrants with need to know specifics including driving, medical issues, education and creating a credit history. It is available for preview June 27 with a launch date of July 1.
Forty thousand immigrants arrive in British Columbia every year and the majority choose to come in the months of July and August. The guide provides an information tool for their first year. Nick Noorani, an immigrant advocate, and Publisher of the Canadian Immigrant Magazine knows first hand the difficulties of landing. “We moved to Canada in time to get our kids settled before the school year began and there was no one source that told us about how to get Medicare, a driver’s license, or a credit card. It was a difficult transition.” Adds Noorani, “80% of new immigrants arrive in the summer and we wanted to get the book out in time for that.”
The second edition covers more ground, and features advice and anecdotes from established immigrants including 2010 Olympic Chair John Furlong, and former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson. Presented in an easy to read format with a note taking section and 230 pages, Arrival Survival Canada provides up to date information, immigrant success stories and a comprehensive look at immigration laws, landing fees, and wait times.
